I like to change my hair with the seasons, fashion seasons actually, out goes the past and in with the new so when I put my summer clothes away and buy my autumn wardrobe I like to change up my hair too. Over the summer I have been rocking Ombré hair, which was one of the most popular trends over the summer, sported by many celebrities.

With this style the ends of my hair are a few shades lighter than the rest of my hair, you can go for different versions of this with dark hair and light blond ends or a dark blond and bleached ends. I went for an auburn brown with golden ends a bit more subtle than some.

For autumn/winter I want something a little bit different so am checking out the latest hair trends. Colour wise red is set to be very popular, however it doesn’t do my skin tone justice and I have had red hair in the past and it takes a while to get that colouring out of your hair!

Apparently if you want to move away from the Ombré look and tone out your two tone style then you should go for a ‘bronde’ colour which is brown and blond obviously! This seems like it might be a good option for me, I don’t want to go back to blond or back to dark brown so this seems like a happy medium!

I’m due at the hairdressers again in a couple of weeks so I thought I may scour the internet to see what sort of styles are in. At the moment I have no plans to change my hair at the moment it’s fairly long and dyed with the dip dye affect (darker from roots and lighter highlights at the ends). But there is no harm seeing what else is out there.

I first came across a picture of that charming youngster Cher Lloyd, who is now sporting an undercut. Unfortunately for Cher the undercut has not been popular since the nineties, nor should it be! She is sporting a sort of dip dye effect too however as well as bleached lighter ends she has also added pink to the ends which I feel is a bit too much. However she is young and didn’t we all dye our hair strange colours when we were her age? (Blonde on top blue underneath, Ssh)

It’s not the best look, however Cher is not alone……..

Other stars sporting the undercut include model/DJ Alice Dellal, singer Amelle Berrabah, reality TV star and ex Spice Girl Mel B, US singer Rihanna and glamour model Jodie Marsh, to name but a few.

One hair style that seems to be the most coveted at the moment unsurprisingly is Kate Middleton’s or the Duchess of Cambridge as she is formally known! I suppose it’s because her hair style seems so effortless, although I doubt it is, however she is lucky to have lovely thick and long locks as that means she has a lot of versatility with her hair. I wish my hair looked as thick and voluptuous as that unfortunately no matter what products I use it normally ends up flat!

I will wait to change my style to see what hair trends/colours will be in for autumn/winter as I like to change my hair with the seasons!

I am going to my good friends wedding at the weekend, the dress and shoes are bought and so is a matching handbag all I need to do is figure out what I am going to do with my hair, it’s quite long and so I thought instead of leaving it down and curling it with my ghd hair straighteners like I normally do I would attempt styling an up do as seen on red carpets sported by very glamorous celebs.

I am looking for something fairly simple but a bit more than just a bun, it also needs to be easy to do as I am not the most co ordinate and do not want to spend the best part of the morning before the wedding faffing around with my hair. The main thing I need to do with my hair is make sure it has plenty of volume using volumising mouse and big curlers, as I don’t want a tight to my scalp style.

I have decided to go for a side chignon which is fairly easy for me to do, by teasing my hair back and pulling into a low ponytail near the nape of my neck, which I then split in half taking both halves I need to gently tease them to give them some body and with one I smooth out with a brush and twist under and secure with a large bobby pin and then repeat with the other. All I need to do now is finish the look with some ghd ultimate hairspray and a flower into my chignon.

Hopefully this will work on the day!

I’m due to go to the hairdressers next week and have the hard task of deciding what I want to do with my hair, currently it sits just below my shoulders with what at the moment is a fringe that is growing out badly, it is a medium brown colour with slight red and blonde thin highlights which catch the light. Although I like the colour I think for summer I want something light, not blonde again but a light brown and maybe grow out my fringe in a stylish way.

Scouring various websites for hairstyle and colours that are in this season is a harder task than you think there is so much out there but I have narrowed down to what the people in the know say is big for SS/2010.

Fringes are in although I do eventually want to grow mine out many celebrities such as Dannii Minogue, Alexandra Burke and Jessica Alba are all rocking a fringe at the moment, worn with poker straight locks for a glam evening look and messy and choppy for day – very versatile.

If you have long hair thick wavy curls are defiantly in with glam 1950’s style waves for evening and rougher surfer style loose waves for day, this style is also good for medium length hair adding volume to make it look thicker. For shorter hair sleek stylish looks are also in with sharp pixie cuts or soft bobs.

I do know I don’t want to go short just yet as it has taken me long enough to get this length from a short crop I had 3 years ago so I think I will definitely keep the length but may have to leave the colour and style in the capable hands of my hairdresser!
