Top 5 Make-Up Products

I used to wear make-up every day, the full works: Concealer, Foundation, Blusher and Mascara. I wasn’t happy with my standard of makeup, not to mention that it was costing me a fortune. However, I recently decided to stop wearing makeup on a day to day basis and just wear it for special occasions, parties and going out. Below are my top 5 makeup products that I now use on a night out:

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Radiance

This is Laura Mercier’s new, breakthrough prima. If applied before applying foundation, this prima is guaranteed to give you skin a beautiful and radiant glowing look! It gives you a brilliant canvas on which you can apply your foundation to, whilst maintaining you with a ‘healthy glow’ look.

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer

This Clinique concealer is brilliant! When applying the concealer, there is no need to apply a large blob, even when used sparsely, this concealer gives you 100% coverage. Clinique is the best concealer that I have used so far, and believe me, I have tried many! It is definitely worth the couple of extra pounds.

CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE foundation

This foundation cost £33 per bottle. However, it is completely worth it. This foundation gives amazing coverage, whilst lying light on the skin and making the skin look soft and luminous. This foundation also captures brilliantly in photographs (unlike other SPF foundations) and looks beautiful and lively all day long.

Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour

Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour is a long-lasting, natural cheek colour blusher, with a warm and velvety finish. It is available in a variety of colours, but my personal favourite is ‘innocent peach’ as it is warm, but at the same time subtle. I was a bit put off from trying this blusher at first as I have tried many crème-blushers prior to this one and they have been rubbish! However, this one is brilliant a nice, subtle and natural look is provided when this blusher is used. It even helps to add radiance to the skin, too!

L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes
Again, I was reluctant to try this product as I was fairly satisfied with the mascara that I was already using. However, it wasn’t until I was going out one night and I had forgot my mascara, that I was introduced to it by a friend. I fell in love with it instantly! I was brilliant and making lashes look loads longer as well as keeping them feeling/ looking natural.

Spring make up trends

Now the sun is shining, it really feels like we are on our way to summer, although I am not that hopeful it will last, however I am still excited to get some new makeup for the coming months and I have been looking for some inspiration.

Makeup trends change with fashion trends which you would expect because makeup can finish off a look, this season many of my clothes fall along the lines of more natural colours, picking out key trends, such as seventies and the odd bright bold colour block trend. So I need to find some makeup that works with both of those trends.

I don’t want to buy a whole host of different colour eye shadows, liners and lipsticks, because I don’t want to have to have so much, instead I am looking for makeup trends that actually involves the minimal amount of makeup really.

Bold lips are a top trend, which will probably go well with block colouring trend, the key is to find lipstick tones that go with my skin colour but also not clash with the colours in my wardrobe. See there is a lot to consider when buying lippy!

Bright eyes, minimal makeup and smoky eyes are the other main trends, which I think I can work, choosing a couple of bold colours that suit my complexion and I can mix and match, some pale au natural eye shadows for minimal make up and a couple of darker shades for smoky eye and I should be set.

Makeup fit for Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is my favourite female action hero and MAC makeup is one of my favourite brands, so imagine how excited I was to find that MAC and Wonder Woman has joined forces for spring 2011 with supersized action packed make up products that can make us all into super heroes. Well actually the last bit is a bit of a lie and exaggeration I don’t think the makeup will make us into super heroes but it will defiantly transform you from plain Jane to super beauty.

As well as a fantastic makeup collection which comes in Wonder Woman themed packaging, MAC have also designed a range of accessories, including their fabulous brushes which come packed in handy belt bags and a range of t-shirts, which are exclusively online.

I can’t resist indulging in some fantastic new makeup especially with the cool packaging to bring out my inner Wonder Woman!
